Legislative Updates from “Day on the Hill” & Capital Conference that May Impact Your Business and Clients

Ken Stevenson, FAHU President

Ken is Vice President of the Earl Bacon Agency, managing the employee benefits department. He has been with the Earl Bacon Agency for 17 years and specializes in providing employee benefit compliance advice to the business community. Ken currently serves as the President for the Florida Association of Health Underwriters (FAHU). He is also a Member of the NAHU Legislative Council. In 2016 Ken was appointed to the Florida Health Insurance Advisory Board by Florida Insurance Commissioner David Altmaier. Previously Ken served as FAHU Legislative Chair from 2011-2014. In 2012 he was named Floridian of the Year by FAHU. In 2003 Ken was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to serve on the Governor’s Task Force on Access to Affordable Health Insurance. In 2011 he was appointed to the Florida Health Choices agent steering committee and served as Vice-Chair.

We will also present an overview of the NAHU website at this meeting.

Chef’s choice of dessertThere is no CE this month, but on 4/18 we will be offering CE Course #97424 – FL LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: NAIC 4-HR REFRESHER COURSE from 1-5 PM immediately after the luncheon. The Course Offering ID is 1063442. This course satisfies the requirement for agents selling LTC Insurance, needed every 2 years after completing the initial 8 hour certification.
The cost for this course will be:
$25 for members
$55 for non-members

The client families have all been pre-screened and pre-registered for this distribution, and will be coming by appointment to pick up a bag containing what they need for their Easter dinner.
